Welcome to the home page of Dawn Howey, Social Science Instructor
Here is some info about me: I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Cal State University, Fullerton with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. I received my Masters of Arts degree in Sociology from Cal State Fullerton as well.
I have been teaching Sociology since 1995. In addition to Barstow Community College, I teach online courses both here at BCC and at Mt. San Antonio College. I also teach upper division Sociology courses at Cal State University San Bernardino.
I am a Christian, I have been married to a wonderful man for fifteen years, and I have four children. Charlie, age 18 (BCC graduate and headed to UC Merced); Drina, age 14 (8th grade); Joshua, age 12 (6th grade); and Samuel, age 9 (6th grade). My husband is self-employed and works out of our home where we also home school the three children still living at home.
We have a few pets...2 dogs--a border collie mix, and a Rat Terrier/Australian Healer mix, and 3 cats--Natasha, Tiger and Fluffy.
My hobbies include: Taking lots of pictures, album-creating (AKA "scrapbooking" Creative Memories stylehttp://www.mycmsite.com/sites/dawnhowey), reading (have a NOOK and love it!), fitness--Beachbody style (P90X, Insanity, etc) (http://beachbodycoach.com/esuite/home/cmmamma) and well, busy with a family of six:) so no time for hobbies.
