About the Instructor: Mr.
Marietta
From 1992 until present, Roger Marietta has served as an Associate Professor of Political Science at Darton College in Albany, Georgia. Roger teaches American Government, State and Local Government, Global Issues, Public Administration, Comparative Politics and Leadership Development. He is distance learning experienced including web-based and cable TV courses
Previously, Roger taught as an adjunct at Perimeter College, Clayton State College; and as a Graduate Teaching assistant at Georgia State University.
In 1988 he was elected as Mayor, City of Fayetteville, Georgia, where his Administration accomplishments included: developing a land use plan, lowering the crime rate, implementing a ground water project, balancing the budget, instituting a 5 year Capital Improvements Plan, and inaugurating a citywide recycling program. . Roger served one term as Mayor and then ran for U.S. Congress 6th District, Georgia.
Roger was selected for the Presidential Management Intern Program in 1984 and worked for the U.S. Army Forces Command until 1989. He provided review and analysis on defense planning documents including the Army Plan and The Army International Activities and analyzed organizational problems and developed solutions finishing as a GS-13.
From 1983 until 1984, Roger was a graduate student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pennsylvania. He interned there with Congressman Joe Kolter’s District Office.
Roger served as a Supply Officer in the United States Navy from 1977 until 1982. His service was completed on the Island of Guam, the USS Guam (LPH-9), and on the staff of Commander, Amphibious Group TWO. Roger finished his Naval Service as a Lieutenant (03). He is a Disabled Veteran.
