About the Instructor: Ms. Pasley

My name is Denise Pasley, and I have been a professional educator in and entrepreneur for more than 20 years. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Business in 1986 from ChathamMs. Pasley College in Pittsburgh, PA. After graduation, I enlisted in the United States Air Force which afforded me the opportunity to further my education in service of my country. I received an honorable discharge in 1991 and remained in the High Desert to raise my family. It was in the High Desert that I realized my passion for education.

I began teaching as an instructor at a local vocational training school and realized I liked working with people and was good at it. So, I went on to earn a CA Teaching Credential in Business. I then earned a Masters Degree in Management Science from Colorado Technical Institute, so I could work in the public education system.

The public school system afforded me many opportunities to share my knowledge as well as create and implement courses for students of all ages in various venues from classroom to home school. My courses have received grant funding from local community organizations because of their innovative nature. Focusing primarily on personal wellness and workplace competence training, I have been able to help people inside and outside of the classroom.

As a professional it is important to maintain relationships with other colleagues in my field; therefore, I have maintained memberships with the Computer Users in Education (CUE) , the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), the Alliance for Education and the Society of Human Resource Management. These organizations help me stay aware of what’s going on in technology, education, community development and work.

In 2006, I formed my own small business which provides personal and professional wellness. My company and personal philosophy is "education is not a bad word – it is the food of life." I hope this class will be like a great pizza (my favorite food) to your brain. Learning can be fun, informative and useful! This is what I hope to impart to anyone I come in contact with. If you are taking a class with me, I look forward to your comments, and I hope you will help me uphold and share my personal philosophy with you.

Respectfully,

Denise Pasley
