INFORMATION     Welcome to the English Department!! The English Department at Barstow Community College is a dynamic association of scholars and students, who work together on communication skills.  Our mission is to prepare students with the skills to accomplish their goals whether those be continuing their academic education, being a part of the workforce, or reaching personal enrichment goals. We will provide opportunities for students to improve communication skills including language skills, organizational skills, and academic-quality writing skills.  We will also provide opportunities for students to gain insight into literature and its diversity, and also  to develop an ethical understanding of and expectations for writing appropriate to a responsible, global citizen.
