MLA style must be used for all essays in this course.  MLA style was reviewed in your English 1A course, so it would be redundant to cover the same information in this class.  The instructor assumes that all students in 1C have a working understanding of MLA style.  All sources must be documented in the text of a student's essay using parenthetical citations (notations) and at the end of the essay using a works cited page.

If you need to brush up your knowledge of MLA style, refer to your English 1A text or one of the following websites:

http://www.mla.org/style (Click on the frequently asked questions for specific information.)

http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/research/r_mla.html (This is probably the easiest website on MLA style to  understand.  It has very good examples.)

Of course if you are a true scholar in English, you will refer to MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, 6th edition, by Joseph Gibaldi, which is available in most libraries and bookstores.  You can also buy it for $17.00 at the MLA website.
