About the Instructor
Education:
Welcome to our class!!!
My name is Tammy Stoner-Niedert your instructor for this class. I am married,
thus the hyphenated name, and have two beautiful daughters that are four and six
years old. My hobbies include horses, gardening, cooking, ceramics, bowling,
volleyball, and softball. I also enjoy camping, boating, traveling, and the
great outdoors, but am especially drawn to the ocean. I was born in South Laguna
Beach California and moved to Long Beach and Alta Loma during my early years. We
then made the move to Yermo/Barstow and have been here throughout my school
years. I left for ten years during which time I spent four years in the Army,
and the other six married to it. I returned here in 1993.
Since 1993 I have been working in education K-12, probation as a volunteer
instructor for first time your offenders, and currently working as a social
worker for the County of San Bernardino. I work in the Perinatal Adolescent Life
Section under Public Health with pregnant and parenting teens. It is my job to
help them learn about child development, nutrition, budgeting, life skills, and
goal setting to succeed in life. I have been doing this for 9 years.
I have been working in education for over 15 years and have done so in Georgia,
Hawaii, and here in California both in regular education and special education
with behavior disorders. I have also worked with an Independent contractor
through Regional Center doing behavior modification evaluations and plans. I
hope that with my experiences and travels that I will be able to assist you in
your pursuit of higher education and encourage and foster your own personal
growth and development in your chosen field of study.
