Prof. Michelle L. Beshears, served on active duty in the United States Army and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. She then further distinguished herself by being accepted into the Army's, Officer Candidate School (OCS). After, her successful completion of OCS, she received her commission as an officer. It should be noted, while serving on active duty she earned three undergraduate college degrees, graduating with honors. These degrees include an Associates of Arts Degree in General Studies, Baccalaureate of Science degree in Social Psychology and a Baccalaureate of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

Prof. Beshears while on active duty had the opportunity to perform various functions and responsibilities to include being the command's security officer. This responsibility included ensuring that sensitive and/or classified documents were encrypted, handled, stored and transported appropriately. She was also responsible for the inspection of various security devices i.e., ensuring appropriate security mechanisms were installed properly and working effectively for optimal security. These devices included, but were not limited to various types of alarm/surveillance systems, security locks, and computer security safeguards.

On numerous occasions she was called upon to perform various types of legal/command inquiries related to allegations made against members of the command that could have possibly led to command and/or legal actions being taken. The type of alleged incidents she investigated included: theft, assault, battery, sexual harassment, child neglect or abuse, spouse abuse, and rape. This required her to perform legal inquiries and to take sworn statements that would later be turned over to the commander and appropriate agencies for adjudication. During these investigations she worked closely with Military Police Investigations (MPI), Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the JAG office, Family Human Services, and various other military, as well as civilian law enforcement agencies.

Highlights of her graduate work experience include course work and research in organizational behavior, conflict resolution, challenges in workplace diversity, public administration, research in education and evaluation of training programs. Prof. Beshears currently holds two Masters i.e., Human Resource Development and another in Criminology. She plans to pursue her PhD in criminal justice.

Presently she resides with her husband (Prof. Michael L. Beshears) and their son (Hunter) near Norfork and Bull Shoals lakes in Clarkridge, Arkansas. She also has three wonderful stepdaughters: Michele, Cora and Mollye.
