Welcome to ACCT 1A: Principles of Accounting -- Mr. Dittman

Dr. BellnapAbout the Instructor:
Dr. Mark S. Bellnap

Since moving to Barstow in 1981, I have been employed by the U.S. Army at Fort Irwin. I retired from Federal Civil Service on January 3, 2005. My last position was G-8 (Chief Financial Officer).

I have been an adjunct faculty instructor since 1988 while continuing my full time employment. Instruction at the undergraduate level includes classes in political science, business, management, and accounting. Instruction at the graduate level includes classes in both public and business administration.

My formal education includes the following earned degrees:

Bachelor of Arts (Political Science Major)

Master of Public Administration

Master of Aeronautical Science (Space Studies)

Master of Business Administration (Concentration in Accounting)

Doctor of Public Administration

I am a member of the American Political Items Collectors (APIC) organization. I collect Presidential Campaign Buttons. Occasionally I bring these buttons to class and am able to discuss various presidential elections and some of the political issues of the day.

Playing in Chess Tournaments is something I have enjoyed since high school. My first big tournament success was becoming the Iowa State Junior Champion in 1964. Today, most of the tournaments that I participate in are postal tournaments.

My community participation activities include being a member of the Barstow LIONS club for over twenty years and I recently completed a two year term on the Proposition C Bond Oversight Committee.
